stardock makes me veery happy biggrin.gif

and to those of you who don't use anything from stardock....well, you should give this a try...it's well worth it and you have nothing to loose since it's freeware and will remain that way. and with all the support it's gaining, it doesn't look like development on this app will end any time soon.

i like that they added the ability to keep it on the bottom but y'z dock has had the same feature for al ong time and even better, even though i have autohide off and the dock is behind all my windows all i have to do is move my mouse to the bottom of the screen and it jumps on top. it makes a world of a difference.
FatCat
The bouncing icons were *&^% up more and more since .70 icons bounce up and down like mad clowns sad.gif

For some reason I cannot get shortpopup.exe to work right with objectdock. It keeps displaying the contents of my objectdock folder instead of the contents of my mp3 folder. Works perfectly fine with Yz dock

because you need to set the correct "working folder" and in objectdock you can't do that

i have a couple of gripes and suggestions for this dock...
1. there is no sys tray function, unless you have your taskbar showing and it covers up the dock
2. uses way too many CPU cycles!! realmad.gif 90% on a AthlonXP 1800+; a dock that i made in html and a direct x call uses 20% laugh.gif
3. one good suggestion would be the ability to dynamically change the position of the dock instead of just up, down, left and right

i know this is off topic, but is there a program out there that just shows the systray?

Anyone else having trouble getting this version to work? It won't work at all for me, just maxes out my CPU, the previous version was smooth. Gonna try a clean install, I upgraded the first time.

--edited A clean install fixed that, looks good now, I just gotta reconfigure it biggrin.gif

well it certainly works smoothly for me but none of the backgrounds i had with the previous version will work anymore... sad.gif

Anyone have the problem that when you click on My computer, or shortcuts to folders, nothing happens. The icon bounces, but I have to click like 15 times in rapid succession to get the directory to open sometimes...

Had this problem with 0.75 too.
Anyone else?

I think this version is getting slightly worse.

They need to fix the above problems before adding more features.

Another issue : with window fx 2.0 and 2 users, after user 2 is logged on and fast user switching is enabled, the dock becomes transparent.

this version is horrible. Trying using the shortpopup.exe so you can have menus...it takes a good 10 secs to show my mp3 list. Yz dock does it right away for me. Alot of times when I click an icons it stays huge till i put my mouse over it again. Nasty release.

I had to go back to 0.75, but I've lost my backgrounds. I'm kinda ****ed, but this version works better, I was getting some horrible performance issues in certain situations with .85

ObjectBar from ye olde Stardocke. I've uploaded a theme for it at wincustomize that just shows the systray.

Yep. Same problem. I'm using v0.70. the others don't have any features I want anyhow.

FYI: the problem has to do with how fast you click. You need to click real fast.

The major problem i was having (the whole dock goes transparent) was due to window fx 2.

Now that I unloaded wfx2, the dock is working alot better as a whole, although it still gets slow if i use program with alpha transparency in them.

The problems you all are having with .85 and cpu usage is a bug with foregrounds. Either use a background that doesn't have a foreground or stick with .75 for now. The bug is fixed in the next release.
Elliott
I don't use foregrounds (those annoying, stupid memory eaters tongue.gif ). I love ObjectDock though, and this version is just perfect. I don't see anything wrong with it. I sent a few suggestions to ObjectDock asking for popup menus to folders, Winamp, etc. I hope they add the things, because once they do, ObjectDock will be the best (even though it is right now). Y'z Dock is just too annoying for me, eats up too much CPU and memory, stuff like that. I don't see the great thing about Y'z Dock. no.gif

PS: Note to people who don't have their backgrounds. The new version doesn't install the backgrounds. You have to go to 0.65, 0.70, 0.75, and then to 0.85. It'll work just fine except for foregrounds.
