What date do you prefer for the draft? I wouldn't mind doing it next week instead of later. I think the sooner we pick a draft day, the more people will actually participate in the draft.

Edit: THanks for making the draft available at a more accessable time for those of us who live across the pond. Personally i don't mind if the draft starts a couple of hours later.

If we have the draft on the 8th, I have more choices for times. As it is, I cannot move the draft a couple hours early because all time slots for that day are taken up except for 6am PT which would be tough for our friends on the pacific coast, and maybe a bit too early for those on the east coast looking to sleep in on saturday

Thats fine, i was just thinking of people who wanted a lie in on the saturday thats all. 9:30am would be awfully early for me

If a couple more people agree, then I'll go ahead with the move. I think the closer we set the date more people will know their schedules, as opposed to having it at the end of the month when people are clueless where they'll be so far in advance. And if more people are there for the draft, the more interested they'll be throughout the season.

I'm in. This year, I won't screw up and miss two weeks of it and eventually abandon the thing. I hope to win again, as I did in 2005-2006 (if I might add a little self-congratulation).

If there is any agreement on changing the draft date and/or time then let me know so I can edit the first post (unless bayrider is able to do it himself). Otherwise I'll assume the info on the first post to be accurate. I'll pre-rank my players in case I miss the draft.

A utility player is anyone in the forward/defense position. So anyone in your lineup who is a C, LW, RW or D can take up a util spot.

I don't believe we had a Util spot last year but... sounds good.

Ya, I had the same lineup as last season except I added a spot for util for those pesky tues/thurs/sat games where over a dozen teams played and a good portion of your lineup sits benched.

I joined just for fun, haven't done a Yahoo! league since like 2003 when I won, should be fun.

So we already are at 12 and there is two weeks to go before the draft.

Is everybody going to stick with it? If I have a bad year then I'll still compete to win the consolation round. I was in that position for Neowin Basketball (which I knew nada about).

Since there is two weeks to go then we could consider either expanding from 12 teams or consider starting a second league.

I don't mind playing in two Neowin leagues. I'll keep up with both of them (and probably have the highest number of transactions in both leagues because I am just like that).

I'm certainly not drafting Raycroft this year. I was a bit of a homer last year.

Okay, now that we're full, would anyone like to recommend a draft day and time? Something in which we can all agree on so that we can be present at the draft.

Personally, I like any time between now and the 12th. I can make it for the original time but I'd have to make some compromises, but it can be done.

Any suggestions?

The original date and time is fine with me and I can make any day before 12 noon EST and after 10 PM EST. Also am totally free on the 6th.

I might not be able to make the draft if it is before the 14th unless the draft is after 7pm EST. If not, I have my preranks all set up and I'm fine with the autodraft

Overall im pretty happy with my draft (even though i only made the last few picks). Im glad i have a solid goalie and some good defence. Im taking a few risks with some of the players i picked, hopefully they work in my favour.
