September 2007 Desktops - Posting Guidelines


* If you plan to img-embed your desktop, please try to keep it under 100k (It's recommended that you link it, externally).

* The desktops thread is not to be used as a means to post images of a pornographic or otherwise provocative nature. We do not support a babes forum and neither will we in an unofficial capacity. Please help to keep the thread relevant and safe to browse for everyone.

* In the interests of keeping the thread on topic it is strongly urged that you format your posts in the following order:

Themes: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).

Wow, these are some cool looking desktops! I just got started with Ubuntu and am using the standard setup/theme at the moment but I'll post mine when it starts to look interesting

This is my current Kubuntu Feisty Setup:

I wish my computer has a faster CPU, more RAM and faster GPU on display card...
Now I run Xfce without installing themes.
Quick response, but ugly.

XFCE 4.4 with screenlets, nice and simple

tried out dwm and fell in love. still customizing dwm to my liking but here it is. included thunar though im working on getting used to vifm. no use changing icons in thunar because i _very_ rarely want to use it.

Still the same as last month, still running Fedora. I might switch to Arch Linux, trying it out in VmWare atm lol xD

On screen : Tint, MOCP, Conky, XFCE4-Panel for the systray. Pidgin, Firefox, Thunar and liferea. Still need to change the icon theme lol.

Wow, that looks like something I would want to use as a dock. Anything like it out there for Gnome? I tried Kiba-dock but it was WAY too bouncy

avant window navigator may suit your needs.

Well you could start the xfce-panel inside of gnome, I'm using rezlooks-royal as the gtk

I want to try Debian Etch when I some free time. Gutsy feels even more bloated than Feisty.

Less than a week since my last screenshot, but I like what I've done with this so I thought I'd post it... Info in shot...

I really like the look that you have achieved Mr Fish.

My Ubuntu box died tonight, the boot drive developed bad sectors. I have another drive but I have not got the energy to do a reinstall tonight, perhaps tomorrow! Lucky everything is backed up, so no problems there!
