Until the draft. I think you need a minimum of 4 players, and an even number to be eligible for a live draft.

I'd like to join, but I've never done a fantasy league before and I don't know enough about all the players to draft well or manage anything well

Last year was my first year and I ended up winning. Generally Yahoo provides pretty good rankings. Hockey is easier to draft than football because the positions are simpler. Well, maybe I just know them better.

I have never done a fantasy league either. Thats why I want to try it. I wouldn't know much about the drafting etc either. I know hockey and a lot of players, but I am more or less a noob there. It is something that is pretty interesting to me though.

I preset my custom draft order in case I can't make it. Although, really, it didn't end up being that different from Yahoo's order.

Are we going to close the league to non neowin players by cutting down the slots, or just let em in?

I already cut it down from 12 to 10 (meaning that instead of 4 non-Neowinians, there will be only 2).

If nobody wants to join before the draft then I'll cut it down to 8 and lock everyone else out.

So unless I forget to check/update in two hours, we should have no more than 1 non-Neowinian.

My girlfriends great oma's (101 yrs old) health is failing, so I was visiting there, and unfortunately missed the draft. But at least I din't set a partial draft list this time around and got a more varied set of goalies.

I ended up with about half of the same players as my other league team. So much for diversity..

At least I did get more than 1 LWer this time.

My team is a lot different actually. Hurrah for diversity!

I had to look up what you guys were talking about. Usually the season doesn't start to Oct 3rd or so.

This year there is a two game series that is taking place in the U.K. before the rest of the season kicks in.

Whomever gets me for the next five weeks is going to have an easier time of it. I'm going to turtle up for a while and hope to get at least one decent defenseman off the IR. I also picked up a third goalie which wasn't in my original plans.

Everyone in the other league seems desperate for a third goalie due to the size of the league (14 players). I don't suppose that overcompensating here will help my other team but at least it gives me some variety. With 8 players we should all be able to carry three starting goaltenders and still have a few left over.

Yeah I really wish I could trade myself a goalie fromthis league...

The only reason i picked up a third goalie was begause Gigure was injured, other wise i would have stuck with just two. Having said that, Huet wasn't exactly a bad pickup.

I just gained another IR player and I have a goalie that's DTD who I wouldn't be surprised if he hit the IR too.

So, for those who are counting at home, I have 3 IR players and one DTD. I have none in my other league.

Edit: Lehtonen's place on the IR is all but assured. That will put me at 4 players on the IR.

I have Shea Weber on IR right now, but it's only 3-6 weeks so I think I'll keep him. Then I have Hejduk on DTD from a sore back, so he should be back soon. He might even be playing tonight.

Well, I was drunk and took a rumor as truth and dropped bouwmeister who was doing **** all for me anyways and picked up Forsberg. Does not having a full D line hurt me?

I had (or maybe have) only three healthy D. Will it hurt, yes. Will it kill you, no. You'll mostly notice it on Saturdays and maybe one day during the week. If you have a properly balanced team then you should have all of your spots in use on a Saturday.

Eh bouwmeister(SP!) was doing **** all for me anyways. Might as well have someone who can't lose me the plus minus category.

I lost several category races on Sunday. I thought I was heading into a 7-3-1 victory but I'll instead have to settle for a 4-4-3 tie. Grr...

Thank god he is just gone for two games, asshole. I just picked him up.

Damn, I was up by a lot this entire week, and then I go away for the weekend without web access and I wasn't able to change the roster around so now I'm not sure how everything will end up.

I am doing decently in the past couple weeks at least.
