Pencil Brand Is Recalled Over Fears Of Lead Poisoning

With the new school year set to begin, Health Canada and Amscan Canada have issued a warning about Favor Set brand pencils, said to contain a high level of lead in their coating.
By law, pencils with more than 600 mg/kg of lead are prohibited from being sold, imported or advertised in Canada.
As a safety measure, Amscan is voluntarily recalling all 16 models of the pencils, manufactured in China, that have been on shelves across the country since last January.
Although it's okay to write with a pencil that has a high level of lead, sucking or chewing on one, however, can cause lead poisoning. So far, there haven't been any reports of incidents or injuries.
The items being recalled are:

They sure do love their lead.
What would happen if lead got into there rice? Head Line news 1 billion dead 
but with Pencil's...doesn't it really NOT even matter if lead is in the paint considering they are LEAD pencils to begin with?

there technically is no such thing as a lead pencil anymore, its all graphite, usually lightly coated in lead 
Ye, lead pencils havent been around for like 30 years or more. Once they figured out its dangerous... like smoking

I wonder how many other countries that manufacture goods are making "dangerous" things as well besides China....although I think the focus on the China is merely political.
