Full Version: Help: Browser text defaults to italics

For some weird reason, text in my browser defaults to italicized text unless CSS explicitly formats it otherwise. For example, most regular text on Neowin is italic, and entire Wikipedia articles (on the Cologne skin) are italicized.

I've made so many mods to Windows that it's hard to track down the problem, but I've confirmed that it's a user-specific issue. Other users don't have this problem. It's not browser-specific, because both IE and Firefox have this problem. It's not my visual style, because reverting to the default XP style doesn't help.

A screenshot of the symptom is attached.

It's driving me nuts! Any help would be appreciated.

Extra info:

Windows XP MCE SP2

some mods I've done/used:

patched uxtheme
Tweak UI
nView Desktop Manager
some changes to %PATH%
