Hi guys

I have created a few themes for Windows XP and lots of ppl liked them. So here I'm sharing with you all and I hope you guys will also like them: smile.gif

VistaVG Ultimate for Windows XP:

Download VistaVG Ultimate Theme for Windows XP

VistaVG Black for Windows XP:

Download VistaVG Black Theme for Windows XP

VistaVG Blue for Windows XP:

Download VistaVG Blue Theme for Windows XP

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the file and extract its contents.

2. In the extracted folder, you'll get 2 more folders:

=> Fonts (This folder contains Segoe UI fonts required for the theme. Copy them to "%windir%\Fonts" folder.)
=> Theme (This folder contains the main theme.)

3. Copy all contents in "Theme" folder to "%windir%\Resources\Themes\" folder.

4. Now you can set the theme using Desktop Properties.

5. Also make sure you have patched the "uxtheme.dll" file to allow 3rd party visual styles, if its not patched, then download and run the UXtheme Patcher from here:

I hope you guys will like these themes. wink.gif

How do you do the HDD icon thing? It's not the first time I see that, but I can't remember what it was. And it's not on your DL page.

^^ Yeah. Its a 3rd party utility to show progressbar under drives in XP. I have mentioned it here:

Sup Vishal, love your vista ultimate theme. One thing I was wondering, do I have to do anything special to see my user icon on the start menu like in your screen shots? I have tried other themes with similar start menu's and none of them display my user icon, all I see is black inside the box. Thanks in advance.

I think you have to use the Welcome screen to get the icon in the start menu.

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change the way users log on or off -> Make sure Use welcome screen is checked

Yes, the user icon will be there.

This is an excellent theme. I even like it a bit more than Aero. It feels snappier too, though that might be because XP is just faster. I've gone back to XP until Vista SP1 is out. This will tide me over nicely. Thanks. smile.gif

Stupid question before I download. Does it include the icons as well? Sorry if it was said already. Looks really good I think.

Firstly and foremost love your theme!!! Very well done!! This is by far the most attractive and usable theme I have used for XP to date!! Its running great! Just had a quick question though that I have not yet seen covered. How difficult (if possible) would it be to further customize the shellstyle.dll file used in the bottom common tasks mod to display a custom list of shortcuts that I define (i.e. I would like it to display a My computer shortcut, my documents shortcut ect.). No biggie if it cant be done, just curious because I would like the common tasks to be on the bottom if I was able to control what showed up there by default. Thanks soooo much for your efforts!!!

Thanks VG, looks great!
I noticed that the previous "VistaVG Theme for Windows XP" used Tahoma as the default font, and now it's Segoe UI.
I know that Segoe UI is the deault font in Vista. But since I don't use the ClearType, the Segoe UI font can't displayed well on my LCD sad.gif
So I changed back and using the old version now. It's great, too, but I like the new one better smile.gif So can anyone tell me how to change the font to Tahoma for this version? It seemed simply change the font will make the buttons rather small or can't be used... sad.gif

I love the idea. They looks great and very Vista-like, but I'll stay with Luna Element wink.gif

I love this theme!!! biggrin.gif But there is one thing that keeps messing up on my pc. It may just be on mine but when I put Windows media player on to my taskbar, and while the music is playing, the pause button seems to be out of place:

And when I do press the pause button (i.e. the song is paused), everything seems to back into place.

SO yeah, any help would be appreciated!

Ok i patched my sp2 with the dll patcher etc. easy. Ok now im trying to install the theme. Do i simply move the folder into the windows/font and themes folder? Or do i extract the contents of x folder and move them there?? Whenever i try to put the file it gives me a message " Windows Font Folder"-File"...\Fonts was not found or could not be opened.

What did i do wrong?
