I just reminded myself that this thread needs to be made again so if your team are making any transfers then post them here and discuss them!
So far Man Utd have confirmed Angolan International
Manucho while Spurs are in talks with Cardiff for
Gunter, more will follow I am sure!
Chelsea will be active, they need a striker, i don't think Sheva up front on his own will assist them in winning the league. Arsenal won't need to buy anyone, they have got quality in depth. The performance by team on tuesday against blackburn will prove that. I've heard liverpool are after David Villa. I wouldn't be surprised if Crouch is sold/loaned out to someone like Villa or Newcastle. I think players will only come into Liverpool if some are sold. Although i would love to see Ronaldinho in the premiership i don't think will happen until the summer.

Pompey are looking for loan signings. We need cover for when the African players go away.
Also another striker wouldn't go a miss.

Well I know Liverpool are definitely after a central defender in January. Agger is still injured (and no one knows when he will return) and Sami does not have the legs to play every game.

Even though I support Man United, I live in Leicester and we are in a real spot of bother at the moment. We really need some decent players to somehow get us out of the relegation zone. A 30,000 capacity stadium deserves better than the Coke League 1.
Heard we might be in with David Connolly and Graham Kavanagh.
I know West Ham will want to sure up because Craig Bellamy is a bit crap he hasn't played for ages.

Looks like Liverpool will get central defender Martin Skrtel from Zenit St. Petersburg. This is good news for our defense.
Anelka seems to moving AGAIN!...you know if he moves for the rumoured £15m he would of racked up over 80m of transfers more then any other player.

Looks like pompey could get Lassana Diarra.
I've also heard stuff about Defoe being allowed to go out on loan. This would be nice as he could be a sure starter alongside Bejanni or Kanu.
Yeah I just saw that £5m thats alot for a player who never really got a game at Arsenal.

True but it this is Harry who has brought him. I had doubts when he brought in Papa Diop. He seems to be doing good for us.
Nugent still looks weak and needs a lot of work to be premiership size. Hopefully we'll find another striker.
West Ham said they need no one, I laugh at that because we do.
Fred to Spurs it seems, he is immense in FM

I'm waiting for QPR to snap up Ronaldinho in the last few minutes of the window.

a central mid would be good for the reds, but i am hoping for another mid fielder, we haven't really been able to replace garcia since we lost him. Going from vironin, benayoun, sissoko and god knows who else is getting kinda old.

Matty Taylor has gone to Bolton

He was a fan favorite alongside Gary O'Neil. Shame both of them have gone as they are good players.
I miss Gary O'Neil as when playing right wing he could do that running and also help the defence out. But with him gone, we're finding Glen Johnson most of the time acting as right winger and then cutting into the outside of the box!
With Matty Taylor, you will get a left sided player who will play left back and left wing with no problems. Also got a good boot on him!
Shame he wanted first team football, as a player no one had any problems with him. It's just that Niko was being very productive which is helping pomepy tons. Next we need another striker and an attacking midfielder.
All kicking off at Pompey I hear.
The players aren't happy with Diarra coming straight in on £50,000 a week, making him one of the top earners.
Probably angry because he isn't even a proven player.
I agree - Vidic is on £50,000 a week at Man Utd and he is a far better player.
Shibby
Jan 21 2008, 11:26
I've not heard anything about how much Diarra is getting paid. Where did you hear this?
One of the highest paid players in pompey is bound to be Sol or James.
I heard about Diarra and his ego saying that Pompey is a step for him to better things.

Jan 22 2008, 00:49
I saw this rumour about Diarra getting more money. It was in the local rag.
To be honest, Tony and Harry will take him down a peg or two. Recently I heard someone say he's won't be going anywhere far. He's already been at Chelsea and Arsenal. So a mid team/wanna be ufea cupers, suit him. The only people that would come in for him later on is Newcastle(!!!), they tried to lure him already.
He is a big head.
Wenger liked him and wanted to keep him, but Diarra wanted to play every week.
Can't really complain about that - but the stepping stone comment was stupid.

Liverpool are set to let Javier Mascherano slip through their fingers. The Argentina midfielder is closing in on a move to Juventus after admitting that he was flattered by the interest.
The Anfield club have stalled over finding the £17million needed to make the former West Ham misfit's loan deal permanent and Juventus are ready to open negotiations over a summer move.
Mascherano, who will become the first casualty of Anfield's boardroom disharmony, said: "I would love to stay here (in Liverpool). I have tried and I've adapted to the city very well."
"But the clubs that are talking are also important and I would like to go," the 23-year-old told an Argentinian radio station.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is keen to hold on to the former West Ham midfielder, whose loan from Kia Joorabchian's MSI runs out in the summer. But Benitez has been unable to secure funding from the club's American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett, and Mascherano's agent Walter Tamer this week cleared the way for a move.
"Liverpool have not made any offer at all to buy Javier and it is likely that he will go to Italy next season," said Tamer.
AC Milan are also interested. Wherever he ends up, he is set to miss most of August after emerging as a surprise contender to represent Argentina at the Olympics.

If we let Mascherano leave I will probably start kicking and punching a few more walls.
But then again, is it even surprising, with G&T running the club?

I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa leaves, I think he is getting fed up and may just want to end it all.
Portsmouth could be getting Baros on loan. Not really sure what to make of this, he is bit of a pain in the arse.
Also why has derby brought in Robert? He is another pain in the arse.
Derby will take any freebies they can!
Seems West Ham won't sign anyone which disappoints me more then anything because I feel we need one or 2.

Baros is back in the Prem. I always loved his service to the Reds, and hopefully he can get his act together with Pompey.
Woodgate gone to Spurs and Alfonso Alves will probably arrive at Boro so one in one out.

What do you guys think?

Bejani to Man City. Please do not go. It would be said. Sure he is 29 and may have scored some this season, but you never know if he will score that many again. He can miss some siters. Also can he carry on doing the running? Eitherway, I don't want him to go.

Yeah I think he will go there as well.
Well I think Pompey will launch a bid for Defoe before the close if Benjani goes!
I called it!
1621: Now this is news (sorry Fletch). Tottenham and Portsmouth have reportedly agreed a fee for England striker Jermain Defoe. What sort of chain is that going to set off I wonder...
1853: "Bizarre one, but apparently my sources in Argentina tell me Javier Saviola will be loaned to Spurs if Defoe goes."
Morris in London, via text
1922: A Liverpool spokesman has told BBC Sport he has heard nothing about Javier Mascherano's supposed permanent transfer to the Anfield club. Now that's not to say it won't happen, but let's maybe hold fire on it for a sec.
I can see this going through and being the only saviour for the Hicks/Gillet thing if they actually get him in on a perm.

I'd be happy to get defoe in, but I'm not to happy about Benjani leaving.
Have to admit this part of the window the part where it closes is always the best but its been dead boring this year.
This Defoe/Benjani deal is taking a fair while.

Jan 31 2008, 22:45
Yeah, I wonder what player is stoping the deal.
We're all guessing we will get Defoe but only if Benjani goes, which means we got a little pot + Benjani money to buy Defoe.
We need to buy him now otherwise he becomes a free agent at the end of the season, so anybody can snap him up.

i thought a loan signing can be made permanent at any time? so they still have plenty of time to get the money out for him
dev - According to the LFC site its not finalized so I suppose they might wait but isn't the loan nearly over anyway and he wouldn't be able to move out the window for a fee it would have to be held till July.
2326: BREAKING NEWS - MIDDLESBROUGH in/HEERENVEEN out
Boro finally get their man as they complete the signing of Heerenveen's Brazilian striker Afonso Alves. They say it breaks their transfer record, but they won't officially say what it is. BBC Sport understands it is in the region of £12m. Now that is a proper fee for deadline day. Bullseye.

Portsmouth have signed striker Jermain Defoe from Tottenham.
The deal was believed to be dependent on the transfer of forward Benjani from Pompey to Manchester City.
Defoe, 25, had failed to hold down a regular first-team place at White Hart Lane and was told he was free to leave the club by manager Juande Ramos.
Forwards Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov were often preferred in attack, while Defoe was limited to appearances from the bench.
No word tho on the Benjani deal.

Manchester City have confirmed that they failed with their bid to sign Portsmouth striker Benjani on transfer deadline day.
City had a bid accepted by Pompey for the Zimbabwean hit-man early on Thursday.
A work-permit was also obtained by City as they looked on course to complete a deal which was reportedly worth around £9million.
However, the deal was delayed and Benjani did not arrive at City's Carrington training headquarters until an hour before the deadline.
Benjani and Defoe best of both worlds

afaik it runs out in the summer. from what i understand, liverpool can still make the loan permanent outside the window (as it isn't a new registration). either liverpool pay up or he walks from liverpool
Dunno how reputable Goal.com is but...

The player's loan spell at Anfield ends in five months, and the midfielder was keen to secure his future, and growing increasingly restless.
It was reported earlier today that Joorabchain was meeting with Rick Parry and Co. in order to make the move permanent, and that Liverpool would use the money from the Momo Sissoko deal to fund part of his transfer fee - 25 million euros.
Reports from Liverpool now suggest that the agreement has now been reached, and the required payments made for Mascherano to become a Red.
The Argentine signs a four year contract at Anfield; an official confirmation is expected shortly.
The news will come as a major relief to Liverpool fans all around the world in what is a moment of uncertainty for the club.
It is also perhaps an indication that the relationship between Rafa Benitez and the club's American owners is on the mend.
It's pretty nice to think Benjani will now stay till the end of the season. I wonder why he was late getting there? Surely something like this would have been done earlier in the day. So Sky Sports are crap at getting good news sources, all day they kept claiming that he was at man city.

I doubt anything will save G&H's tenure at the club. All the continued hate that is being thrown at them will wear them down eventually. They are blinded if they think that if they give us Masch then we will love them again, and they actually do think that, Hicks referred to Masch as a "gift" to Liverpool fans last week.
Oh, and we have until the end of June to complete the transfer of Mascherano. Although, since January 1st he has been able to talk to other football clubs about a transfer. The transfer fee was agreed when the loan was agreed last season, and it is £16 million for the actual played AND his wages on a four year contract. The end figure will be slightly higher though with all the agent fee's and royalty payments etc (£18.2 million is the figure currently being mooted).
