For almost the past year, animated wallpapers on Vista have been exclusive for Vista Ultimate owners. Stardock DeskScapes was released soon after which brought some amazing enhancements including dynamic and triggered wallpapers, the new .dream format, and more.

The first beta of DeskScapes 2.0 has arrived for Object Desktop users. DeskScapes 2.0 will run on any version of Vista that is Aero capable. Object Desktop subscribers will also get access to four exclusive dynamic .dreams.

But have they released the tools to allow other peopel to create 3D .dreams yet ? or are they keeping that to themselves so they can suck as uch money out of peole who can only get Stardocks own roating earth.

I'm sorry but Vital Desktop + any kick ass screensaver in XP beats DeskScapes for me any day of the week. I will never use this until it does something awesome like being interactive with the rest of the desktop!

That is the current public version, so it won't change until 2.0 is released to the public.

Good news. Been wondering about when it was gonna be released since it was announced.
This could well push me to getting an OD sub now (have been holding off for a bit, but may aswell now as I believe it will be less than £30).
