Full Version: IE7 Crash?

refer to the attachment below. I can't seem to open IE7. Whenever i open and start surfing, a pop up appear and then it close if i continue OK. Why? I already try to uninstall and reinstall it. I hope i do not need to format my system sad.gif

since im using XP home edition with SP2, but i got a pop up when i try to install it. It say "The version of Internet Explorer you have installed does not match the update you are trying to install?

Im confuse now.

Is getb.dll or hostie.dll on your system? You probably want to turn off Add-ons. =\

what do you mean add-on? my IE do not have any add-on, its fresh reinstall.. but crash sad.gif

Even if IE is broken, you can go to Control Panel: Show All Items : Internet Options : Programs : Manage Add-ons to look at that. It's unlikely that you have no add-ons at all.

Do the two files I named exist on your system or not?

ok, i search for the addon in internet options, nope i do not found any of both.

i search it in my system, the search results found 0?

gosh what happen to my IE7?

So get and install the Windows Debugging Tools, crash, and you'll get a fault bucket. Put that up on a site like rapidshare or yousendit. Post the URL.

Or heck, just list the call stack from that crash. That should actually be pretty illuminative.

I started suffering from crashes with I.E. I eventually found out it was the Epson toolbar named web-to-page.


Uninstalled it and not one crash since.

Thanks! Had the same problem when viewing a demographics site heavy on Javascript.
