The last time i tried Linux, 4-5yrs ago i could not get anywhere as i didn't know how to install things or get anything setup. That was in Mandrake which was meant to be easier.
My main problem was getting anything installed, drivers/software. I didn't know how to type the code to get things installed.
So can you point me in the right direction as i would really like to learn Linux.
Would your Shift Linux be a good place to start.
As i kinda like Neowin and have been telling friends about it.
Ubuntu, Freespire, Maybe Shift would be a good start.

Shift will be a good start... soon. 0.6 is going to be pretty solid, but 0.5 can't be installed yet.

A lot has changed (and improved! ) in the past 4-5 years!
I would recommend Ubuntu as a good general "learners" distro. And I don't mean it is limited in any way, just because it is easy to pick up and use. It is still full-bred Linux.
Shift is recently based off of Ubuntu, so should carry the same positive traits.
