For those of you that love WMP and are not aware of it, there is a program which allows all the most popular of formats to be played on Windows Media Player. It essentially centralises your player.
Uhh... That's just a plugin for FLV files... Not 'majority' of formats.

Maybe I should have clarified, it installs the .flv plugin AND something else that allows the other formats aswell. Not too clear on why it isn't advertised on the site you download the file from though.

Wish people would stop recommending K-lite... that word should be censored here or something
"This program only installs the FLV playback component for Windows Media Player. "
So what exactly is it installing without your knowledge/permission?? Pretty dodgy...
I install DIVX and ffdshow (formerly using XVID). Oh and Cyberlink
Codec packs? No thanks. I dont like blue screens, bad codecs, spyware and/or misc problems.

I would recommend using ffdshow, it's stable and it does not break any licensing agreements unlike other codec packages (K-Lite, Vista Codec Pack, etc), plus it doesn't muck about with the Windows Registry and throw entries everywhere (grab a copy of Process Monitor from Windows Sysinternals and install one of those codec packs, you'll see what I mean). Or, use VLC.
