Hi Folks

Just seen that skydrive has been upgraded to 5gb so i was going to upload my pictures to it however is there any ways that you can just drag and drop a folder instead of having to upload every pic individually ?

Similarly, is there a program that can upload files to Skydrive?

Nope. This will probably be a future feature though. Go to the feedback form for Windows Live SkyDrive at https://feedback.live.com/default.aspx?mkt=...ctkey=wlfolders and request it, more demand is always good when it comes to this.

If you install the "upload tool" active X control, you can drag the entire contents of a folder into the upload area. Currently though, as previously mentioned, skydrive does not support the ability to upload folders.

The quickest way, would be to create individual folders (as only one level of folder structures is possible) and drag the entire contents of a folder using the upload tool.

(You should be prompted to install the upload tool when you open a folder.)

A program to upload would be fantastic, something along the lines of googles picassa.

Maybe Microsoft is not interested in having easy ways to full the 5GBs.

I want the feature for backup small things. I uploaded some small files to test if they delete it with time, I hope the files stay forever!

I doubt they do either - if they wanted you to be able to feasibly upload 5GB of data, they would have improved the servers to allow a decent upload speed.

I'll be interested to see how long they decide to wait to add the ability to move files, however, that (in addition to the speed, to some degree and that they probably have no intention of adding drag-and-drop capability in the form of an add-on for Firefox) are the only possible negatives I see.

I know I am resurrecting a old thread, but it has been a few months. I was going to open a new thread but decided to just post here. Is there any more information on this yet. I would love to have a piece of software similar to GmailDrive for uploading files to my SkyDrive..
