I use it and I have to tell you, it is not bloated like Nero and it is faster and better than Nero. I have yet to see a coaster with it. Works great.

Yeah I love most of Ashampoo's software. I got Ashampoo Burning Studio 7 for free last year, and I got 8 for free recently also. I love it, nice and fast, not bloated.

Version 8 is not an official release yet so be careful with it. It gives me the impression it is a fake.

Ashampoo Burning Studio 7 is thumbs_up.gif. Never heard of version 8. Maybe its a beta?

I've got the 2008 version as well : Ashampoo Burning Studio 2008,version 7.01
So I guess it's actually version 7?

But the logo has a "2008" on it (the burning fire logo on the application)
Code.Red
Yeah it seems like they've mixed up their versions with numbers and years in giveaways of their free version of the software. Other than that it's a good program, I would recommend it.

Well, I got my 7.01 for free... I guess if I want to upgrade, I must pay for it?

I would say its a free upgrade. Always has been.
cswimbound
So then what do you miss out on this that is in the pay version then? And why are they offering it for free if indeed it does have all the same things in it as the pay version?
:: Lyon ::
I'm sure that you have to pay for the upgrade. I remember getting these annoying emails from Ashampoo after I downloaded/installed my free full version. The email was something like giving me disocunts for an upgrade, blah blah.

As cswimbound says, if there's no difference, people will just get the 6.6 for free, and do a free upgrade smile.gif Ashampoo = broke

I think they are giving up on the idea of charging for the software since it can easily be cracked.

It may be old but it still works better than most payed software and is defenetly better than a lot of free ones.
Hey for free and it's stable what do you have to lose.
