“She worked at a local bar where she danced, she was a performer there and the children where left home alone,” says Public Information Officer Ken Jefferson with JSO.
The mother, 23-year-old Tarolyn Williams was arrested and charged with child neglect. Police say they received an anonymous call about the two children being left home alone at 11 p.m. When they arrived they said the front door was unlocked. Williams later said her sister was supposed to be watching them but the story never checked out.
“There was no square inch of the house that had trash or debris laying around,” says Jefferson.
According to police reports debris was in every room. Trash covered the floors. There was a pungent odor of filth, mold, urine and feces. Roaches were also present and no lights were on.
“She was very irresponsible by leaving these children home alone and they couldn't care for themselves,” says Jefferson.
The anonymous source who called in said these children were left home all the time.
Tarolyn Williams is in jail held on a $25,003. Police say the children are now in the care of Florida Child and Family Services.
Investigators found Williams working at a local gentleman's club. Police brought her back to the apartment and arrested her.
