I Want to Choose one of these laptops i can't decide which one to buy

Vostro 1500
T5400
Cpu: 2Ghz 2MB Cash
VGA: GeForce 8400
Ram: 1GB
HD: 120GB
Scressn: 15

--------------------------------
--------------------------------

Inspire 1520
T7200
Cpu: 2,2Ghz 4MB Cash
VGA: Intel X3100
Ram: 1GB
HD: 120GB
Scressn: 15

All other specifications are the same

The Two laptops are near in price but i am confused as
vostro one is better in VGA as it is GeForce 8400

And Inspire is Much better in CPU: 2.2 4MB Cash

i don't play games but i use vista
is the difference in VGA will affect vista

Or the inspire Laptop is much better because of the CPU 4MB Cash

I want your opinions in this

i want to know which one is better and why ??

I like the vostro style. Having a dedicated vga is always a good idea even if you dont use games but the x3100 used by inspire works really good with vista.

Choose the one you find pretty and more comfortable, you wont notice any performance gain in one or another.

Pick the one who matches your style, the black vostro or the lively inspire.

please if any one have another opinion tell me smile.gif

What are you hoping to do with your notebook? A faster CPU and/or a dedicated GPU doesn't mean much if all you're doing is just web browsing and word documents.

The Acer has a slightly better graphics processor, however I do not like the way that the Inspire series notebooks 'feels'. The keyboard is hard to type on and feels unresponsive and is not as tactile. The Vostro has an integrated Intel graphics processor which is good for running Windows Aero and basic tasks, but has a better feel to it as well as a higher quality design which will make it more rugged. I would go for the Dell Vostro 1500, personally.

I have a Vostro 1500 myself. love it since I got it in August 07.

(should this go in hardware help?)

I would go Vostro if it were up to me, honestly though, this is pretty much just opinion. Specs are very close (you wont notice a difference).

i am oracle developer so i need power full laptop
is the difference between the

X100 and 8400 is huge

and difference between

CPU 2.2 4MBCash
and
CPU 2 2MBCash is huge

i think the difference in CPU in my opinion is huge

I was talking combination, but I did word it bad.

get more ram seriously....Vista won't run as smooth on 1GB.
utdarkviper
yea but just buy ram after market and install yourself, it's easy (not to mention cheaper)

Can you give the specific CPU that each laptop will be using. For all we know we could be comparing a Core Duo 2.2GHz with a Core 2 Duo 2GHz.

I'd choose the Vostro over the Inspirion (without knowing what the specific CPU is going to be) based on the video card + build quality. I would definitely add at least an extra GB of RAM though.

i don't know what is the meaning of specific CPU
the tow laptops are intel core 2 duo

inspire 1520 is 2.2Ghz 4MB cash
Vostro 1500 is 2 Ghz 2MB Cash
shift.
eg) T7200 or T5400 C2D processor (just as an example)

get the inspire as the other wont last so long on battery. Since you're not gaming the X3100 can last probably up to 1 1/2hr more on battery than the Vostro. No point in having a powerful GPU when you wont be playing games or doing 3D design. Those chips just suck power even when you're doing nothing.

thanks for your reply but relly i don't know what is
t7200 and t5400
what is this
and what is the difference between them
and how i know if the processor is t7200 or t5400
utdarkviper
Those are just two specific model numbers out of many that exist. Are you looking at these two laptops somewhere online that you could post a link to? If not, just try to find out the model numbers of the cpu's.
medosa
the first one vostro is t5400
and the inspire is t7200

AnarKhy
Get the vostro, its more solid build, since you are a developer

utdarkviper
Go for the Vostro, those are good specs for a laptop.
shift.
I was just throwing out two random examples of Intel mobile CPU model numbers just so you can use it as a guideline. Didn't mean to cause any confusion.
