Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place to ask but it doesn't hurt to try anyway smile.gif

I wanted to ask if anyone knows if there is a way to disable those horrible annoying web page adverts that slowly fade in on the page that you're viewing and usually contain a video clip or advert. You then usually have to clip a skip button located in the top right hand side of the page in order to go back to the original page you were viewing.

I was told to try a program called Adblock Plus but it doesn't stop these adverts from appearing. Is there a technical name for this kind of web advert and is there is a utility out there that will successfully block these 'fade in' adverts from appearing?

Oh and I'm a Mozilla Firefox browser user if that makes any difference!

This has been such an annoying problem for so long I just had to ask to see if anyone could help!

Cheers for reading

I'm guessing NoScript would do it.

Try Flashblock instead

There are only a few that I see that get past it. Mainly those "you've been chosen to participate in a survey" things.

flashblock would probably be sufficient for this purpose, but NoScript would give you control over much more than just flash.
