I was an opera avid user around version 4 and 5, I actually paid for it, when no browser around compared to it in terms of features. Then switched to Firefox and been there all this time.

Whenever Opera released a new version I was there to try it and always returned back to Firefox within minutes. Now that Opera released v9.50 I’ve been using it for two days straight without touching Firefox. It’s pretty nice IMO. But there is still something that bothers me about it.

When I right click on a highlighted word to make a search, it makes the search on the current window.

Is there a way to make it do the search on a new tab, like the behavior I had in Firefox.

TIA

P.S. Yes i still like FF so don't start biggrin.gif

If you go to Tools > PReference > Tabs > Reuse Current Tab, uncheck it, works for me. Basically all searches you do, anything that might concievable use the same tab will open a new one instead, except for clicking a regular link of course.

It bothers me too. Shift+LeftClick will do the trick but it's not very easy if you have a sandwich in your hand or you are scratching your balls with your free hand.

Bookmarks will also open in a new tab this way and you'll end up spending half of your browsing time closing old useless tabs.

Depends on your browsing habits. When researching one topic or another I very frequently find myself open a bookmark with information related to the tab I currently have open, that the bookmark is opened in a new tab is in those circumstances a preferred behaviour to me and many others.

Sure, but it would be more convenient if you could choose to open a bookmark in a new tab with right click or reuse a tab with left click. That's how it works in Firefox and really should be i Opera.
