This documentary film was specifically made in 2007 to showcase High Definition, and believe me it shines spectacularly in 1080p! HD-goodness just poured from my monitor while I just stared endlessly at shot after shot, each one photographic brilliance in it's own right.

For those that haven't heard of it, Earth is a documentary film that chronicles life on Earth and the migration and life cycles of several different animal families. Narrated by Patrick Stewart, it hangs perfectly on the balance between being too educational and too - what's the phrase - "sugarcoated for the mainstream"? There is not a boring moment in sight; even those who dislike educational programmes will be astounded - if not by filmography then at the very least by the amazing 1080p presentation.

I'd already watched the BBC series Planet Earth (from which this movie was made) on TV, but watching it in 1080p was a completely different experience. Forget movie films ported over to HD -- this movie is what HD is all about!

The soundtrack is great too. My only quibble was there were a few sad moments (hunter killing the prey, etc.) but I admit that is the reality of life - it's just I'm just a sucker for animals. tongue.gif

I award this amazing film 8.3/10. The BBC at its best!
