Please refer to this post to the issue I'm having. Whenever I provide a link that contains an ampersand, it gets converted to the HTML version twice, so the HTML ends up being &

Both links on the linked post take me to the search form and not to the page I really wanted.

Bump. Maybe I should've posted this in Site & Forum Issues instead of the Bug Tracker...?

Bumpidy bump bump. This is such a simple thing to fix, and yet it hasn't been sad.gif

Knock knock. Surely I'm not the only person experiencing this problem. Are any Neowin developers looking into this? sad.gif

It works fine for me. It was marked as fixed in January....

Adding

Produces

So it hasn't been.

The same problem occurs for me on:

Vista Home Premium SP1 IE8 (IE7 emulation on/off) and FireFox 3.0
XP SP2 IE7 and FireFox 2.0.0.15

& = HTML encoded &, your links should work fine. I'm not having any problems with double &s showing up either.

I know what & is. I can provide before and after screenshots of what happens. When Save is clicked, the updated text to contains & instead of just &

What browser and add-ons you using?
Mathachew
The problem isn't addons because it happens in IE7, FF2, FF3, Opera, and Safari.

I'd also like to note that there is nothing describing what the checkboxes are in the Preferences portion. Do they remove the checked ones? Save them? Does Close and Save do the same thing?

You've almost taken the cake as the most impatient person I've seen on a forum. It'll happen when it happens.

Hardly. The whole point of my bumps was to do my best to get a Neowin staff member's attention so that this bug wouldn't be overlooked because another developer claimed it was fixed, when in fact it wasn't. Some kind of recognition from any of the staff would've prevented any further bumps from happening (well, at least for a while; if it weren't fixed six months after the initial request, then I think patience has run its course). By the time I posted knock knock, it had been almost a month since I started the thread, and there was nothing indicating anyone paid attention or cared. So no, I hardly almost take the cake of impatience, especially since fixing it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes, even with problems (this is not to be taken as criticism towards the Neowin devs).

The point to both of you is two-fold; you don't know what else is going on here on Neowin or in the land of devs and 2, thinking your problem is the only one that matters is annoying.

Well at least you replied to this one. Masher and the rest of us are still waiting for a response on this one:

At the least Neowin can acknowledge that it was read. smile.gif

I have given them the benefit of the doubt (note that I haven't come out and called them names because we all have lives to live) and never did I give the indication that my minor problem was the only thing that mattered. Your impatience and lack of understanding is driving you to annoyance and these false conclusions; I'm sorry, but I can't help that.

To be fair, he's been waiting for a response since 18th June. If a dev or mod replied, even just to acknowledge the post or to say they are busy atm and it's not a priority bug fix, it wouldn't make it seem like his post has been ignored.
