So I have a MySQL db with a ton of data in it (nothing that is extremely crucial mind you) and there was a power surge today and for whatever reason my data reverted to three weeks ago (everything since then has vanished). Any help would be appreciated it on how to retrieve that data or is it gone for good?

(Using SuSE Linux Server 10 BTW).

So I have no clue how it happened, but some how when the system came backup it moved the db directory from /usr/local/ to /etc/mysql/. When I did a search for the everything mysql (find / -name "mysql") I found that directory. But I'm clueless as to why it did that, but some of the db files were left in the original directory blink.gif

But I moved the files in /etc/mysql/ to the correct directory and everything is back. Weird.

That is strange...

Glad you have your database back, though! thumbs_up.gif
