been absent a while, but back for more, I present to you...The marriage..
One of my models is getting married soon, and she wanted some shots before everything got hectic of her and her fiance. Went to a local college and shot in front of the church there, shots were all normal, but I decided to have a little fun and make things a little darker, dirtier, and moody, so I present the following shot for you all. please feel free to comment and critique it.

Data:
Nikon D200 w/ 24-85 lens
SB-600 below models chin, about 1 ft away and pointed up (hand held)
ISO 100
F4.5 @ 1/60 sec
Photoshop:
LucisArt filter
Burning to dirty clothes, enhance mouth lines
Nik Viveza used to create control points to darken background, arms, and brighten ring.
Here is the before shot:

I dunno, honestly I think the before shot is more flattering.

it wasn't supposed to be flattering, it's more supposed to convey a message about an alternative view on marriage, and state something such as "hey I got the rock, and I own him"...with a darker, dirtier feel to it than the traditional "angelic" wedding shots you are used to seeing...thats what it's rougher and not all pretty...like most of my shots.

I love how the little reflections of light came out in this one. Is it a pool?
Yeah it's my pool

Great photos SirEvan & metro!

Some from my trip to Wadi Deglam Egypt:

The shadows really don't do justice on her face SirEvan, but the concept is good

I like the idea behind the shot. How the lady is "always in charge" in the marrige. However i think the heavy shadows on her face take away from the picture its self. If the flash were to be more direct i think it would have been more pleasing to the eye.
edit: I like the look of her in the original shot. I think if you were to tweak the background and him it would be a better picture.

I like the colours in this one, but it looks like you have a spot on your lens or sensor as there is something in the sky. You could easily clone it out with Photoshop though.

nice shots pandya and sin-ergy... i usually love vignetting but that second shot of yours sin, it looks like the vignette washes out the pic and makes it too dark, in my opinion. Would have been really nice with bright colors. The other shots are awesome though.. love PEI scenery.

Amazing! The pictures I've seen so far inspired me to spontaneously become an amateur photographer. I'm about to head out and go buy my first camera. I'll post pics as soon as I can!

My cat Misty pulled the blanket off the chair and then hid in it.
My flat has been invaded by a mouse! He/she is starting to get a bit cocky and coming running around. It seems to have spotted the (humane) mouse trap but has ye to be tempted yet. Grr.
Anyway had a camera in my hand as it came up to me last night. Took a couple but I won't post the cute one, it will make it harder to hunt the little fella.

Alright, I now have a Fujifilm Finepix S1000fd. I guess it's alright for a beginner. I have about 13 days to return it but I'm loving it so far. It's a 10.0 megapixel digital camera with 12x optical zoom. Anyway, I'll post a couple of test shots once I find my USB cable.

I went with my friend this morning as she got her first tattoo. She handled it like a champ. Two lines of text right across her ribcage. She brought her camera, a Pentax K10D. So i took a couple of pictures.

So I been contemplating a new lens and the 17-40L is one I'm looking at. It's actually a toss-up between that and the 24-105L. Of course the latter costs quite a bit more. Then again I already have the wide angle covered with my Tokina. Decisions decisions...

Unless you have a longer range lens, I wouldn't get the 17-40. 40mm is limiting at times as your longest reach.

I have the 17-40 yes it can be limiting at times but you really just have to use it for wide shots and not a walkabout lens my next lens will be a 70 - 200 2.8IS I'll have that and the 17-40 as a pair.

Yeah it's a sad thing that mice can be so dangerous in so many ways for humans. I for one tend to go by "live and let live". But when they get invasive and cocky... it's good ol' sticky mouse trap.
