Just saw it tonight (can't beat free advanced screening + $10 giftcard), and i thought it was quite good! 9/10! Beginning was hilarious lol, whole theater was cracking up.

Ending got a little lovey dovey, but it wasn't too bad...definitely threw a twist in the middle

These type movies are usually some of my favorite styles also.

they use he f word one time bc its pg 13 and its hilarious
story gets a little choppy but its a superhero movie so that was alright

i give the movie a 7/10, a perfect ten being so amazing i'm left speechless

it's definitely not his best work, but keep in mind you shouldn't be expecting an oscar winning movie. ALL of his 4th of July movies are supposed to be fun movies with a little bit of "food for thought"; and that's exactly what he delivered. lots of humor + great acting = this movie being a success

Yeah, going to see this on Monday, sounds like it's gonna be a good watch, thanks for the review. Although I am looking forward to Dark Knight... Seems they got somewhat out of the boring and horrible Summer release schedule they're used to.

It was alright, nothing special. The opening sequence was the best and there was a part in the story that made you say "Oh snap" but other than that it was alright. Will Smith was the star though, especially what he did with that french kid, and of course those two prison mates .

I liked it quite a bit, but it felt like the story was far too packed in and was left practically unexplained at the end. If they make a sequel, which I wouldn't mind at all, I just hope they kind of explain things a little better.

Otherwise, it was very entertaining and funny.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. the story wasn't particularly deep and a few things could have been written a little better. without Will Smith the movie would not have been as good. good fun though.

I really liked the film! Saw it last night with the girlfriend, really enjoyable to watch. It got a bit cheesy in the middle but damn, the ending was great.

Why?

I saw this yesterday and thought it was awesome. I love Will Smith and pretty much anything he's in. I kinda dig their backstory also. An immortal clan with super powers! Tell me more!

Jason Bateman was also great. I miss him from the great show once known as Arrested Development (in which I recently watched the whole series). And of course, Chalize Theron is smokin' hot.

It was a nice as a whole, very cheesy at some points, but really enjoyable

Edit: Also Charlize has I dunno, some sorta different look than her other movies, but she looks HOT! For some reason I didn't find her as attractive as on hancock.

Yep everyone loves to laugh at racially , ethnic bashing moments such as the beginning of the movie.

It was pretty funny near the beginning, but after about halfway it really began to suck horribly. It's probably the worst movie I have seen in a long time. I went in so excited and I came out thinking "wtf? that sucked! I paid $10 for that?" Will Smith's worst movie in my opinion. I give it a 4/10.

It also seems like Rotten Tomatoes agrees, giving it a 37%.

The only they could have made better were the bad guys. The inmate trios were lame.

it was ok, I was expecting more of a backstory from Hancock.

If i was a super hero, I would probably be Hancock.... before he went to prison

I felt the same... 5/10 for Hancock, I even checked my watch during the movie. It's not a good Will Smith movie.

Seriously, it went from a great funny movie then the story took a ****ing u-turn and turned completely ridiculous within like one scene.

Great concept, horrible execution.

I was expecting this to be a lot worse to be honest from the reviews etc. i was suprised, it was better than i thought, good story, just felt like it was missing something. not the best will smith movie but it was good

Like most people, I enjoyed the first half. The twist didn't do anything for me. It could have been done in a much better way. Blame the directing & editing.

Just bought a movie on Saturday. Actually, I have same opinion as the others at this thread.
My rating: 7/10

One word. Disappointing.

The first half of the movie was good. Not hilarious or amazingly captivating, but still good.

The second half of the movie, after Hancock saved those people in the Bank went downhill, very fast.
After the movie finished, I thought.. That's it?! And the part with the logo, on the moon.


There's a lot of forgettable titles coming out of Hollywood lately.

5/10.

I would give Hancock 4/10 if I had to pay for my tickets. Got complimentary tickets.

The revival of a drunk superhero becomes a great movie. I like the movie, I'd give it a 10/10. Most movies with Will Smith seem to be really good, as well as his shows (The Fresh Prince of Belair). It cracked me up how it was a drunk superhero. I've actually never heard of Hancock before. (yes he is real fake comic superhero) Hopefully Will will continue to make such great movies!

I'd give it a 9/10. It's impossible for Will Smith to have a bad movie... I pretty much love all his work.
