Kia Ora all,
Just a quick question for people in the know. I've done extensive Googling, but never turned up anything useful. When does the iPhone's App Store go live? I know for a fact that the iPhone 3G is being released in New Zealand in about 8 hours and 15 minutes. Will the App Store be live then?
I won't be getting the iPhone due to Vodafone's ridiculous prices (see: most expensive in the world) but I'd love to know when I can download the App Store on my iPod Touch.
Thanks,
Sam.

Ah ok. Sweet, that'd be the same time as the iPhone 3G is released here. If you're right, I'll be happy at midnight tonight
As far as I'm aware, the App Store will go live once the 2.0 firmware update is available for download.
That should be tomorrow, Friday July 11th.

You can access the App Store now if you have iTunes 7.7. Just click the Applications window, and at the bottom right there is a link 'Get More Applications', which will take you to the store.

Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find the Applications window, heh.

You have to go into the Applications preferences and tick the box for Applications, you should already have a link in your iTunes Store anyway, i've already bought like £40 of stuff
The AppStore is live on the iTunes Media Store.

I think before the end of the day I'm going to end up giving Vege an honorary Apple Badge.
