I would like to see the startup of shift linux improve alot and one way you could do it is by implementing Fedora's Plymouth witch you can read about here http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/FeatureBetterStartup

Sounds like the Fedora team is working on something very nice, indeed!

But did you look at the "todo" list they have for themselves? I don't think that Plymouth is something that can be implemented, because it isn't anywhere near ready yet.
