This is another collaboration of British comic actor Simon Pegg and David Schwimmer, after the 2006 film "Big Nothing".

Schwimmer directs this film, and appears in it briefly, which is about a hapless security guard Dennis Doyle (Pegg), who got cold-feet on his wedding day and ran away.

Five years later he finds out his intended wife Libby (Thandie Newton) is dating an American executive (played by Hank Azaria) called Whit. Overcome with regret, he vows to get his lady back and when he learns that Whit is running in a London marathon he tells her he will also run to prove his love.

This would probably be a lightweight, sentimental romance if not for the enormous comic talent of Simon Pegg. He has an uncommon touch for playing the vacuous, vain fool while remaining highly likeable and familiar. He is teamed here with Dylan Moran (of the Black Books series) and there is a cameo appearance by David Walliams from "Little Britain".
