Allows homebrew to read from DVDs instead of just SD cards, and as said above, allows Homebrew to read from DVDs on an unmodified Wii as well.

The Homebrew channel can be installed on an unmodified Wii.

Hopefully this will take off just like the PSP Homebrew has.

Hmm interesting.

Gonna have to give this one a go.

Can you run backups with this?
Rudy
at this point it's useless but it will most likely be awesome like on the psp
freeza
wondering that as well......about the backups....
Soldiers33
so does this mean it will also run backups? or only homebrew games?

I'm wanting to test this but I don't own any SD cards to begin with. I'll wait till someone gives the low down on what this thing can do.

Found this while browsing on bitGAMER, and they have the following at the bottom of the description:

NOTE: Mainly a proof-of-concept at this point to show whats to come. Right now all it works with is a Sega Genesis emulator for loading your roms off discs. Expect big things from this in the near future though. Contains the needed WAD file which is hard to get at this point.

So while this is good news, it's nothing really to start raving over. Not yet, at least.

Sonic The Hedgehog is a start (Genesis)

the homebrew channel is a safer way to run your emulators and homebrew games if you have a SD card.
