Trying to mod a machine, What kind of switches are typically used for power on a PC? I remember trying this once with a toggle switch, which i want to do again but when the gate was on it would constantly restart. I believe its a momentary switch?

On modern day machines the power & reset buttons use momentary (normally open) switches. A toggle switch by itself will not work properly, as you found out.

Yeah its a push to make switch, these sort of things: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criter...rce=15&SD=Y

they are called soft switches, and its due to the new atx standards. The power supply looks for a momentary connection on one of its pins, and starts up. In older cases, the power supply didn't have the sensing capabilities so it required a toggle switch.
