Just to clarify as you posted in this forum. Are you using server x as a desktop and Outlook or are you wanting to sync your contact with and exchange server?

i am using server as a desktop. i see active sync is installed on here but it works different then when i had it on winxp. i don't get the box to transfer over pictures or contacts... it opens windows explorer

outlook 07

are you running server 2k8? On my server2k3 box activesync looks and works the same, are you sure it installed correctly?

If you're using Server 2k8, you may need Windows Mobile Device Center. (That's what's used in Vista.)

ok, i am running the trial of server 2008. it has active sync installed with it automatically. when i open it up though it doesn't operate like it did in winxp. a box came up showing things like syncing favorites, contacts, picuters. where now media player pops up and syncs through that. please help...

Windows Mobile Device Center is only recommended for Vista, but you might try it.

Sorry. I figured it was worth a shot.
