James Irvin is facing a possible suspension after a post-fight test came back positive for banned substances Methadone and Oxymorphone.
Irvin lasted just 61 seconds before succumbing to a knockout in his light-heavyweight bout with Anderson Silva in July 19.
Silva proved in a different league to Irvin and the latter was dealt a second blow when a test found banned substances in his system.
”A post-fight urinalysis has revealed that light heavyweight James Irvin tested positive for the banned substances Methadone and Oxymorphone following his first round knockout loss to Anderson Silva at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas on July 19th,” read a statement from UFC.
“Irvin, who has 20 days to respond to these results, faces a possible fine and suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.”
