Hey, at least let us PC owners keep ONE good theme to ourselves...

Correct - I could use the titlebar pixel font in the playlist, except Winamp doesn't display large numbers of fonts correctly (pixel fonts included). That was about the best one I could come up with. It's been hazified a little due to the PNG colour reduction too

Ok. I'm finishing up the WMP 9.0 tray control skin...

Still have a little issue w/ the pause button, but I'll finish it up sometime tomorrow...right now, though, I need some damn sleep.

Also, I'm gonna need permissions from Gigatexel and Ryu7x, as I am using one of Giga's alternate start buttons and Ryu7x's buttons from his WMP 9.0 skin.

So, if you guys happen to come across, lemme know if I can release this when I'm done w/ it.






PS - If someone knows how to skin the taskbar controls for a THIN taskbar, let me know...because currently, when you minimize WMP, the taskbar grows to a full height of 25 pixels, as you can see in the pic above.

i've done one too, but i never posted it coz when u minimize media player, the taskbar doesn't stay thin and imo looks feckall! have a look for yourself...

I believe Ryu just 'borrowed' the buttons for his WMP skin from my Winamp skin, so feel free to use them

You don't need my permission since the buttons are exactly the same as the ones in the VIsual Style it self, ask GigaTexel.

Okay guys. IMHO we need a homepage where everything 'bout classix is on.

Like the complete newest theme, trillian-skins, wmp, winamp and so on.

ONE official skin for every app is enough.

Mods (like start-button) done by another person than the author isn't nice.

Well, I tried simply cutting each bitmap down from 25 to 20 pixels...no good.

Anyone got ideas?

Argh...I even tried replacing all occurences of '25' in the .dll with '20'...even that didn't work.

Something somewhere must be telling the taskbar controls to be 25 pixels high. It should just be a matter of changing that file so that it tells the controls to only be 20 pixels high

Classix Mailing List. It's not up-to-date per se, as most skin authors have chosen to ignore it, but it is there.

Several of us have talked with gigatexel concerning an actual website or such for Classix, he's yet to agree to any of us doing so (for his own reasons, which only he is qualified to explain).

The mod issue has been discussed several times over. If you'd look back you would notice that a few of us have discussed "modpacks" that anyone could release. Thus keeping the primary themes how the authors want them, while letting users customize them to their liking.

does it have a WINAMP3 skin also ?

for some reason on the windows media player skin when i select bars they are no the right color, the have a black background with horrible light blue bars. how do i change this??

EDIT: D'oh didn't realise i still had a beta version of media player 9. updated it and now it works fine.

Hmm...screw making ports. Let's make our own version of Linux and call it ClassixOS!

This is for all skin authors and people making wallpapers based on Classix. Please ask for permission before you start any work and do it by pm or email, not in this thread as it will likely be missed. This includes art's winamp skin, if you use any part of it to make a skin for another program you must ask him first. Art did the graphics by hand, notably the playlist buttons. This isn't aimed at anyone in particular, I just wanted to make that clear to avoid any possible confusion or arguments in the future. Thanks and good job to those who have contributed to Classix.

did art release the winamp2.9 skins yet???

is that what giga is refering to ? or just the 2.8?

He's refering to using the buttons from art's Winamp skin in other things like WMP9.

What about the ClassixGirls thread does that apply because there is I think 97 people need to contact you.

Technically Alex? Yes since they're using wallpaper I made. However I'm fine with it because it's confined to neowin and it's helping the Classix community. Now if they started making wallpaper, taking credit for skins they haven't made and posting things on HWG without so much as a mention of my name then it might irk me a little. I think you know what I'm talking about right Alex?

Art sent me the Winamp 2.9 skins today and they're awesome, no surprise there. They'll be included in the next update which is due tomorrow evening.

I wanted to thank jagedEdge for holding the fort down so to speak while I was busy. Thanks for answering peoples questions and being involved, that didn't go unnoticed.

Here is the Colorpad skin. I've been inspired by the shellstyles with the skins i've been developing. Maybe i'll make a more 'traditionally windowed' skin for Colorpad if there is enough interest.

And here is a Photoshop Swatch file which should hopefully contain pretty much all the basic colours needed to produce a Classix skin, for each of the 8 colour themes.
