Update 3/25/03 - New start menu, new startbuttons (alternates with 'start' text can be found in the 'Goodies' folder), Gray color scheme added, Black color scheme made darker, winamp skins updated for 2.9, taskbar buttons now vertically aligned when taskbar is on top for non-SD version, wallpaper updated, 1 new wallpaper for the Gray scheme, bsplayer skins added, other minor fixes.

Not to get all picky, but the blue color scheme is not as bright as the ergo color scheme...did you get the names mixed up? Just wondering.

The Ergnomic version was added after a few of us requested it. The idea was that it would be based off of the color sheme of the same name found in Binary's Watercolor (in color, not in any other way). The Blue scheme already existed at this time.

Perhaps I worded that wrong. In WatercolorLite, the "Ergronomic" is a darker blue than "Blue".

In this newest Classix, the "Blue" is darker than the "Ergonomic". It's reversed.

That's all I meant. Doesn't mean anything. Names are just names.

Blue in Classix was dark to being with. Ergnomic, which was added later, was based off of the Ergnomic blue color in Watercolor. Hence it's not reversed, it's just the way it is.

Not sure if this bug has been mentioned, it was present in earlier versions as well. The content margins on the All Programs background doesn't match the ones on the Frequent Programs background. What I mean is, if you move the mouse over one of your frequent programs, look how far the selection goes to the right. Then do the same with All Programs and it doesn't match. It should!

Being a themer myself, I tried briefly to fix this though and it didn't seem to want to fix. I'm sure you may have worked on this.

Right after posting I fixed it. The Default Pane size for the StartPanelMoreProgBackground area is wrong. Change it to the value that matches Start Panel MFU Background. Should be 159. Then the bug is fixed.

Is there any way a version of the theme could be created that uses a lighter colour for the window colour. I love the theme, I'm just not a big fan of the tan colour all over the place... I was thinking of something more along the lines of:



(maybe even lighter, now that I look at it... )

If I knew anything about making themes I might try it myself, but I don't...

Otherwise, it's a great theme though!

kainashi: adjust the ContentMargins of the button so that Left is -50 and right is 75. It should fit then.

ClassixSD Red Color scheme the separator on the All Programs menu is screwed. See it for yourself. No shot this round. It's just stretched a pixel i think. Add a pink line .

whats the best way to replace the start button icon with the new one ?

use ResHacker. Open the .msstyle with it, browse to a bitmap with the word START_BUTTON in it, or something similar. Also make sure it's the start button for the color you're using.

Then just right click on the bitmap and choose replace resource.

The best way is to Import the style in stylebuilder to a folder. Let's say C:\Classix.

Exit Stylebuilder.

Then go to the folder than contains the new button. If you are replacing for SD add SD to the name of each folder.

Select all the folders.

Copy them to the C:\Classix folder. Answer yes when it gives the warning a/b folder already exists.

It now has replaced the image.

Open StyleBuilder back up.

Modify ContentMargins to -50, 75, 1, 1 on the StartButton for each color scheme.

Press Zip and then you have your new theme.

Ok I just noticed that the Blue and Green shellstyles aren't displaying properly because of some things I rearranged in stylebuilder. This will be fixed along with the other reported issues soon.

Well the buttons are the buttons from the VIsual Style, now some symble's are Art's so you would have to ask them too.
You have my permission to use all you want from my WMP9 skins.

All of the reported issues have been fixed and an update will be posted in a few hours.

Those of you who subscribed to the list in 'Digest Mode' will not be receiving emails as soon as they're sent which is why most of you didn't get the last email. When you're in Digest mode the emails are collected then sent as one email at a later time. I just changed an option in the list so hopefully all of you will get the next email as soon as it's sent.

Thanks BuG The default start button in the next update will be the one with the 'Start' text since most people seem to prefer that one.

is it me or the update from 25/3/2003 is completly ****** up ??? it gives me a smaal start menu without userpic..shellstyle is no more very little fonts...etc ???? kept previous version and waitin...

thats because the new start menu its now small with no user pic, I think it looks better

Weird! I found the error. I copied the shellstyle from the "Green" folder to "NormalColor" and it works now. Green is reading from NormalColor and Blue is reading from nowhere? Bug?
