hello i have a question: under vista the opera process is showing as virtualized?is that normal?just curious as firefox is not showing up as virtualized,it is opera 9.51.
Thanks.

As far as I know some applications are coded in a way to run "Virtualized". Basically this makes them think they can write anywhere when they really can't. It prevents problems from Vista preventing write errors to protected places by giving a virtual registry etc to write to. Virtualization = good protection.

New applications can specifically tell the OS to not run virtualised through some code built into the application. All old applications don't do this, and of course, any applications who have not had their code modified to specifically tell the OS not to run said application virtualised will continue to be virtualised under vista. Many programs included in Vista (WMP springs to mind) run virtualised themselves. It doesn't cause any harm or slowdown particularly.
