Right
Making this post for a friend of mine, that is sitting on a bunch of miniDV Tapes, and he is search of a good application to get them onto his computer, without loosing to much quality due to heavy compression
Is there any software out there you can recommend?

You can use Adobe Premiere if you can hands on it to capture and digitize the DV tapes. I think Adobe has its own DV encoder that it uses, or you can capture it uncompressed if you have space on your HDD. Keep in mind you'll need allot of space if you go the uncompressed route (better quality as there is no more compression after you dump the material to the HDD).
