I'm running MS SQL 2005 and am trying to setup notification that my "SQL Agent" is not running or is otherwise "broken" (i.e. HD full) or other problem.
Is there a reasonable third party app that will help me to know if this SQL Agent is running? or if my SQL backups are not going off correctly?

hey! The great news is when you setup your maintenance plan inside SQL Management Studio you can have your maintenance plan send you an email if it fails at any step. just setup a notification task.
