Hi All,

I installed Google Chrome, during installation I chose not to have a desktop shortcut, nor a Quick Launch Shortcut.

It went on smoothly and the browser started, and I tried it for few minutes then closed it.

When I tried to launch it again, I couldn't find it on the Start Menu!

I tried to search my (Program Files) folder and it wasn't there!

I tried to search my computer for the word (Chrome) and it did not find it!

I tried to re-install it. And the installer closes as soon as it downloads the file!

Where did my Chrome go? how can I find it?

I just checked and found it in my Application Data folder.

C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application specifically, on Vista.

Strange spot for it...

What version of Windows are you on? On Vista, the main chrome.exe ends up at C:\Users\[Name]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\

Probably similar, in the AppData folder, on XP.

Anybody know why it installs here instead of Program Files?

edit - dang it, you guys beat me whistle.gif

that probably allows the thing to be installed without an UAC prompt
(but I'm not that sure tongue.gif)
Sir Ali
I couldn't get to be the default browser without UAC. It wouldn't even show in the browser's list without that.
