Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I have just upgraded my 2GB 667MHz macbook ram to 4GB!
What an easy step and also very cheap!

If I had known before, I've had bought a 1GB ram macbook with a bigger HDD for probably the same price. *sigh*

Now here comes the batch .NEF files processing testing.. I hope to have a lil speed boost hehe

Edit: oh btw, is it normal that my old ram sticks have white dust on it? I used to build many desktop tower and never saw dust on rams. And I only have the macbook for 1 month or so.

ciao

Aperture will still sadly be slow because it relies heavily on your GPU for processing. 4Gb should help greatly though when you run Aperture/Lightroom and Photoshop at the same time.

thanks for the info. I hope to see speed improvement on Nikon Capture NX2 as well

Congrats on the upgrade. When I took out my older sticks from about 2 years ago (stock RAM) they had some white residue on the connecting tips. Not sure what that was about, but I read about it happening to others so I just shrugged it off.
