I finally got round to watching this movie after I picked it up for £5 (around $10) and I loved it, I know of people who actually hated on it and I watched it with someone who had read the book (I alas haven't read the book tho!) and they loved it as well. Tom Hanks and Audrey Tatou were amazing!

8/10

I loved it! There is another movie being made (Angels & Demons).

It was pretty meh imo hmm.gif Nothing great and the plot certainly suited books more than the big screen.

I read the book however long before the film came out, but never got to see it in the cinema, which is a pity.

When I did get to see it, I enjoyed it more than I thought I was going to, it might have missed bit or changed them slightly etc etc, just like every other Book to film adaptation, to for me it was still entertaining enough to be watched and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I also really liked the music in the film too.

8/10 from me too

And looking forward to Angels and Demons, if that is still happening. biggrin.gif

I've read the book long before the movie came out and it was alright, though a bit rushed in terms of storyline. The extended edition, which I have, is much better and fleshes out the story even better.

People hated the movie for the following reasons.

1. It called into the question religious beliefs. (Though I always say that if a movie can sway your faith, then your belief is not strong enough) The fact that it asserts Jesus had a child.

2. The movie was too long and as stated above... was rushed in getting to the story.

Few tid bits to ponder-

It was common practice to paint youth with female features. (which would explain that some think that is a woman in the painting "THE LAST SUPPER")

Also to note- back then canvases were very hard to come by and some were acid tanned in order to reuse them.- Which some of the older paintings would show brush strokes in the canvas of the older painting.
(Kind of like writing on paper with a pencil... then erasing... then writing something new on top of it...and you still can see the old writing)

I borrowed the 'extended' version from a friend. I've got to say I found it pretty boring and got to a point where I thought it was going to finish soon and it was only half way though.

No way could I ever sit though it again.
