theres a 52" projection tv being sold locally for super cheap, but it says the colors are a bit faded.

im wondering i should get it.

i know that projection tvs need lamp replacements every couples years, and that the colors tubes often need replacement.

its a mitsubishi, so its discontinued and no support....

right now ive got a 19" crt that i got for $40 a year ago, so the tv is going to be bigger and look better, but how would i get lamps/color tubes since its no longer being made, and there expensive to replace.

I would wait and get an LCD. I find rear projection horribly washed out and very dull. not sure what HD they support.

were going to be getting a large lcd for upstairs.

i was thinking about getting on for the basement since its only $100.

then just chuck it when the bulb burns? confused.gif

is it worth getting if i can get one for $250-350 with a working lamp/color tubes?
