Ive got a 53(2003) fiat punto, with the standard blaupunkt cd-player. It will play shop bought CDs, but ive tried with a Tesco brand CD-R and it won't play. Anybody know if this cd-player will play CD-Rs or any brands I should try?
Im burning with nero.
Also the radio reception is rather weak for one station, compared to other car's ive been in. Would a new aerial slove this??

If it doesn't play burnt CD's then you need a new Headunit.

Are you burning using the right mode?

Try something decent, like Imation. One of my mates has a Seat Cupra that is fussy about CDs...
Other than that, buy a new head unit... you'll never look back

My advice would be to replace the whole radio! My wife recently bought a Punto (very nice too) but the blaupunkt radio is absolutely garbage - like you say it won't play CD-R's, it skips like crazy and the reception is awful.
You can get replacement fascia panels from specialists and the likes of ebay - as for the radio itself try Halfords or Motorworld - both have got sales on with some good bargains

Good luck!
I think I will just get a new headunit.
There's a cheap one in argos currently, with mp3, usb etc.

get a MP3 player ( i dunno why they call em Mp3's tho, mp3 is a bigtime compressed shizzle format, use wav

or FLAC if ur rich with space and can afford 500505000USD headphones... or just buy an ipod, i did that

)
