I tried disabling the antiphishing option in IE. It is still slow. Advice?

it depends what you mean by a lot. if by a lot you mean it takes like a minute to load and to render a page then there is something wrong. if it's just a bit slow then it's probably just that ie7 is slower than firefox.

it takes a couple minute to load and to render a page in IE. firefox only takes seconds. Advice?

Try the repair feature. Tools / internet options/ advanced /repair.
