Current Version 1.0.0

Color Schemes: 1 (for now)
Font Choices: Tahoma, Segoe UI, Lucida Grande
Extras: System Icons, matching wallpaper, matching cursor set and matching bmp's for the logoff and shutdown panels.

There will be a larger, more complete icon package coming later, this is just kind of a preview of the set. A compact start menu is also planned, and maybe some more color schemes.

It's a very nice theme, now mke a Vista version with transparency and it'll be real crystal.

Though as fiting as the name is with the colors and crystal design, I wonder if you know the history of the name crystal night, it might be considered somewhat bad taste by some people, even if it's not meant that way, as I said the name fits very well to the VS' design and colors.
Dustin B.
I didn't know the history, just looked it up though. Obviously this theme has nothing to do with that, so I'll just let it be.

As for a vista version, may be coming as soon as I can afford the vista style builder. I'm pretty poor right now.

Really like it! Very good.

And the name fits perfectly. The Reichskristallnacht was 70 years ago. I don't think you should change the name.

The extras are also very good. Despite the wallpaper which is somewhat boring.
Dustin B.
eh, changed the name anyway. I might be adding a "day" substyle too tongue.gif

Very nice work, thank you for sharing it here!

Hi Krez,

Yet another stunning package..........thanks very much for all the time and effort that you are putting into this. It never ceases to amaze me that people like you do all this work for the community and all for no reward.

Looking forward to the full icon package.

Thanks again............speak to you soon.

You should change the thread title to the new name...

Which color will you use if you make a "day" version?

Fantastic job, Dustin! I'm using it now. Thanks fot all the time, hard work and effort you put into this psckage!!! biggrin.gif

"Crystal Night"?

Seriously?

Interesting choice of a name. Probably inadvertent, but still interesting.

It's rather . . . infamous.

Nice theme, though.
Dustin B.
Incase you haven't noticed, I changed the name within 20 minutes of release. I was just waiting for a mod to change the thread title. I'm sorry if anyone got butt hurt about it rolleyes.gif

I was trying to keep the wallpaper simple, I really wasn't expecting anyone to use it anyway so if it's boring then eh. The next update will include a compact start menu, slightly thicker title bar, larger caption buttons and possibly some other stuff. To the few that actually like the theme for what it is, thank you very much. I really do appreciate it.
Skight
Good job! I like it smile.gif

Hey Dustin, don't be so thin-skinned. The theme as it is is really great. I think I will use it for a long time. I would even pay for it (like I did for 1 or 2 of your themes in the distant past).

Your planned changes sound very interesting.

Keep up the good work!

I like the downlights on your Start Menu. thumbs_up.gif

While it looks cool, no offense, I don't really like the start button. Otherwise, yeah, it looks cool. thumbs_up.gif

So different are the tastes... The start button is one of the coolest elements of the theme IMHO.
suicide_pact
I really like this one, Krez. It's got flash, but is subdued at the same time.

I agree. The Startbutton is fantastic and goes well with the VS!!!

There is a small bug. The 'knobs' on the toolbar grippers look somewhat weird with their light blue right borders.
Dustin B.
I'm still playing around with that, looks odd to me too tongue.gif There was also a small transparency bug on the vertical progress bar.

Yeah, that looked weird to me too! I changed to use this and it look better.

VERY nice! I like the start, too. Thanks for sharing. thumbs_up.gif

It's a bit too colorful to me (the combination of colors) but good work nonetheless

Hi Krez,

Superb style as usual. How is the black version coming along? Are you thinking of a real black or just a dark gray?

As you can see, I'm impatient as usual!!!!!!! Sorry, I know it is a lot of hard work, but waiting is hell!!!!!!!

Speak to you soon.

Great job man looking forward to the compact start bar.
Unkoil
Wow that's beautiful...
its going to be my new current theme
Zsantz
How are the substyles, especially the compact menus coming along? I hope it's soon.

One small thing, I've discovered a flaw, though. In the new Safari for Windows 4 Beta, the captions buttons are absent. But they exist in subwindows like Downloads and others.

@ Zsantz
Not the Visual Style's fault I would say.
Do they show when using a diffrent style?

It seems to depend on the visual style. The wider the button, the less it will show. So any Vista-on-XP clone is going to have the problem, too.
While a touch annoying at first, I kind of like it. After all, I still have the program icon menu and the taskbar menu if I need to min/max/restore.

Justin! I didn't know you were still alive! How's the band?
Aquarian
Awesome visual style.

I usually tend to be very picky in selecting this kind of stuff, and so far almost every theme and VS I tried was somehow not right in my eyes, but this one wins me over. cool.gif

That said, there's a minor issue with your VS which has to do with Windows media player mini mode.
When running WMP in this mode, the task bar seems not to be fitting the size of mini player, thus increasing the vertical size of task bar by approx 3-4 pixels and this makes clicking the task bar buttons a tad annoying because then there's a tiny bit of space beneath them.

I hope I could get my point across.English isn't my native language so pardon me if I couldn't.

Looking forward to the next version of VS. smile.gif

Edit- By the way the Log off and Turn off computer panels don't change even though I have selected the theme. What's wrong?
FuKe
This theme is really nice, and well completed.

But how do I change the log off and shut down window to the ones that came with this theme? smile.gif
vip
wow, now idea how I missed this when I had XP ... but it looks very nice and polished. Too bad I no longer use XP sad.gif Good work!
Dustin B.
Sorry the update hasn't been released yet guys. Real life got a little too busy and I lost track. It's still on my to do list though, haven't forgotten about it.
