Hey all, I'm running Firefox and Thunderbird on Windows 7 RC 64bit. When I go to Help > Check for Updates, I can't because it is disabled. I didn't do anything to disable them. I suspect it might be the fact I'm running both programs in 32bit compatability mode but I'm not sure if it is related. In the Update section of (Advanced) Options of both, The main core program is dimmed out but "Addons" and "Search Engines" are not dimmed out.

What's going on?

This is probably obvious but... if you are not logged on as an administrator "Check for updates" will not be enabled.

Ahh. That is it! I just need to run it in Admin mode (right-click on firefox.exe > Run as Admin).
