For any of you HAWX players, you all probably know what I'm talking about. The minute the game starts up, the purple Ubisoft logo animation comes up and plays that interesting sound clip before going to the Tom Clancy logo, the game sponsors, etc.

I think that the sound played during the Ubisoft logo animation would be GREAT for a computer's boot sound, but I'm not sure how I could obtain that sound (other than a crappy mic recording). Can anyone manage to get that sound with the highest quality possible?

If it helps, this youtube video has the segment I'm talking about:

Load up a copy of Fraps, record, seperate vid and sound in VirtualDUB, and then trim it to what ya want, then use it as a startup. smile.gif

I don't have a copy of any Ubisoft games on hand do to this for you with, sorry.. Buit Fraps has a freeware version for 30 days, and VirtualDUB is free with a simple google search. tongue.gif

I remember in versions of Windows prior to XP, you could manually change the bootup sound by replacing the Startup.wav file, or whatever it was called, with one of your own, of course you had to rename it so Windows thought it was the default one.

Hows that even relevant? He wanted someone to rip or record the ubisoft sound on the startup of the game HAWX..

Besides XP and further on let you customise your sound scheme in a non hacky manner.
