I know, its not a new movie, but I had just seen it. I heard about this movie probably about a year ago, and it was really only because of the soundtrack done by Eddie Vedder. So I finally got around to getting the dvd, and I must say, it is a great movie. I rarely watch movie unless I think it will be good(last 4 movies ive watched over 2 years No Country, Michael Clayton, There will be blood, and now this).

I have never really liked the main actor in this movie (Emile Hirsch), but I must say he did a really good job, all around the acting was top notch, and the emotion is very real. This wont be a movie for most as for one its not really an action packed movie like many seem to enjoy, and its long(2 1/2 hours), but if you are looking for a good movie and a great story then I suggest you watch this. I feel like most if not all can somewhat relate to the main character, as everyone has a desire to break free from "society", and just live their life the way the want and not have to worry about working paycheck to paycheck and working to make others happy and fit a mold you are expected to fill. Another thing that makes this great/tragic/stupid is that much of the movie is based on a true story, including the "bus" which is still there today.

I loved this movie, it had an interesting story, excellent acting and cinematography. I'm not ashamed to say that I was moved by a couple of parts.

I loved the film and have watched it quite a few times now. It was shot and acted perfectly and eddie vedders soundtrack fitted just right. the book of the same name by john krakauer is also definitely worth reading too.

I really loved this movie when I saw it. The movie just captivates you right from the start. I really need to check out the book sometime too as I'm sure that is probably even better
