4.0 beta is reported to eat up as much as 6GB disk space.


go check your
home/library/caches/com.apple.safari/webpage previews (mac) see how big it is?

if you are using safari on a pc, it might be somewhere in app data folder, Im not sure exactly where tho.

That article is 3 weeks old. Maybe it could have been true with the beta, but we've seen two more versions since that was written.

A little less than 162 MB.
I suspect it doesn't do this with the final, as it was a pretty critical issue...

Mine is 552MB. Using the final Windows version.

the question is if safari self police the storage and keep it tight, since safari 4 relocated the folder, it might start a new folder from zero kb, growth of the size might thus take a week or two (depends on usage).

We shall see.
