Looks the same to me in IE8. Probably because I have the Ignore font sizes specified on webpages option checked.

dont mind...text tends to be a touch small on most websites actually. Luckily most websites have abandoned the "8px verdana" efforts common a couple of years ago.

Yeah, not a fan, but I pretty much only use the search bar in Safari now so I never see it.

I hope there will be a greasemonkey script to change it... it's annoying.
But as I use Bing for everything now, I don't really notice it.

I like the new size personally.
I just wish Google.co.uk would put the "Google Search" and "Feeling Lucky" buttons on the suggestions dropdown like what they do on the Google.com version
I hate it to be honest. If it ain't broken don't try and fix it. Very lame change.

I hate so it much, looks ugly but then Google's products never have been design efficient. Google has been "playing" with their pages lately. Changing colors first, then font sizes, showing slightly different search results than my local Google domain.

Ah I see it. It's only available on Google.com at the minute, not on the regional sites (i.e. .co.uk, etc). I don't really have a problem with the font, but the fact that the search buttons float at the bottom of the suggestion list sucks.

I don't google through the homepage, so it doesn't really bother me.
But if I did, it would.
First the PS3 and now Google. I HATE LARGE FONT!!!
Sucks so much, i dont like it at all, the logo looks a lot smaller now, and for some reason it doesnt feel that is centered (thats just me probably).
But yeah, lame change, didnt notice till i saw this topic tho (search bars ftw)

fine by me.
I love the new size. I just think it looks better and is now consistent with the location bar in Google Chrome.
The only problem is that the logo now needs to be made bigger; it doesn't look right now.
I'm on 14' LCD (Laptop)..... so bigger font seems to look better for me
What I hate are the new squared buttons. Very un-Mac-like.

It's funny, because those square buttons are native Mac buttons.

I think it looks ugly and out of place, the only sensible reason I can see for doing this is for people with poor eyesight, but they would be using a higher DPI or high-contrast theme. Which to my mind just makes this change silly.

Why don't you use the search bar at the top of right of your browser. You'll never see the Google front page again.

It's fugly
It seems they have made the width of the textbox smaller and I love it even more now. I used to think Google Search was ugly... I still don't think it looks any where near as nice as Bing but this is an improvement and I actually think it looks okay now, especially as the textbox is now consistent with Google Chrome's location bar (size, font).
