About a week and a half ago I noticed that Firefox was taking a lot longer to start up than it usually does. I thought it must be something that I've done that is causing it but I honestly couldn't think of anything that I did do that should have such a result. I searched far and wide for anything that would be causing this and tried all the solutions I could but none of them worked.

So yesterday, I built a new computer for my brother. I was doing Windows Updates, and after I installed Service Pack 2 Firefox was still running great, but I still had one last round of updates to do. After those updates Firefox on the completely brand new computer with a new installation of Windows and Firefox started behaving the same way mine is by taking extremely long to start up, with load times of about 45 seconds to 1 minute. On both computers after it fully loads is perfectly speedy. On mine I have a bunch of extensions (I did try disabling all of them) but on the other computer there are none.

I think this might be the update in question:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/MS09-045.mspx

Because that is one that appeared in the last round of updates that I did on the other computer. Both computers are running Vista 64-bit if it matters. So, anyone have any thoughts or ideas on why this might be happening?
