Hello, I am using the latest version of FF 3.5 with my recently installed HD 4870. Previously, I was using a Nvidia 7900GS.

However, I noticed that with Firefox in particular, whenever I right click on a web page or access other menus that take slightly longer to load (e.g. the Headlines Live Bookmark), a black box appears where the menu is supposed to be (you know those kind you used to see back in the days where processors were not as fast as they are now and with little RAM), but disappears after a split second. So it gives sort of like a flickering effect which is rather annoying after a while.

I am using Windows 7 by the way.

Is this a known problem with the ATI Catalyst drivers? Can anyone with ATI cards confirm this?

BTW it's strange that I don't get the problem when Aero is disabled; only when it's on then theres this issue.

Anyone???

This is an ATI driver issue I believe. Turn off aero and see if it still happens.

I doubt it's ATI's drivers issue. Never happened to me, and I've been using Windows 7 for around two months now.
Did you uninstalled the Nvidia's divers?

Yes, I even did a reformat.

Turning off Aero solves this issue but Windows 7 looks like #*@( with it off...

However after the reformat it doesn't seem as prevalent but it still does happen sometimes.

Does it happen sometimes to you too? =\

Pupik what card are you using btw?

This problem is weird =\
