Current Version: 1.8.2
Updates: Fixed a few small bugs and changed a couple of small graphics...
Plans: No definite plans anymore... Unless I get requests for other color schemes (hint, hint) but I do plan to find things that can be changed in MiniShibby to define it better... And I'm going to make a shellstyle too...
Here's my newest VS. Since my last one didn't go anywhere, I figured I'd have another try. This new one is based upon the look of my personal website. Here's a screenie:

Link to my download page:
HereEnjoy!
And PLEASE give me bugs and ANYTHING that you can find. Oh, and if you know how to fix the bug, that would be great if you could tell me considering I'm still pretty new to designing Visual Styles...

Hey, it's blackbox ready.
Nice looking theme, the gradient reminds me of the MetalColor one (which is a good thing!).
A lighter blue version of this VS, but with the font as Tahoma, would look really nice
Little.. wide?

Little.. wide?
yes that's because i was using a reg hack to fix the font cut-off bug when using lucida grande or another font... it automatically resizes the windows... it shouldn't be like that on your computer unless you're using the same fix too...

nice work... I'd like to see it in a less intense color (think pastel something!)... but nothing too wrong with this at all.
Well done!

Jun 18 2003, 14:54
awesome thanks for your comments :-D to hear praise from you guys just feels really good...
well i'm gonna make a new color scheme with the two colors #B6CEE7 and #7E98BB with the first being the light color and the second being the dark. that's a less intense color - a nice light blue. i think you might like it... i'm trying to find a good red to go with as a lighter version... if you have a good suggestion for the dark shade of it that would be great. i'll keep you all posted with my progress. but right now i must go because today i'm going to six flags with a bunch of my friend :-D it'll be a good break from this computer screen...

Looks pretty nice, the red is too deep a color for me though.

ok green is almost done and then i'll get started on yellow... after i finish those two, i'll work on lighter versions of all four... i figured i'd let you all know. and if you have any requests for a color, tell me cuz i'm on summer vacation and there's really nothing much more i can do

Jun 19 2003, 18:28
I look forward to the lighter blue. Good luck!

Jun 19 2003, 18:57
thanks L0KI

ok i updated it... added wind color variation (green) and i'm workin on the yellow now... the lighter versions are my next priority after that and then any that people might request...
edit: i've got a bit of a request... can you all help me find some good wallpapers to go with each color scheme? i'd really like to have some nice looking wallpapers to package with this...
.fahim
Jun 19 2003, 19:14
why not make them yourself?... then you own the package!

Jun 19 2003, 19:28
well, i'm not too creative with stuff like that... and i can't think of something that would go well with fire and ice and wind and electricity... i've got fire and ice, but i can't figure out anything for the others... oh well i guess i'll mess around in photoshop and see what i can come up with...

Jun 21 2003, 01:05
ok i've updated it MAJORLY... check the first post!
Looking nicer mate...
To make the windows normal size (they still look a bit large) you need to make sure any images you are using are as small as possible. This also keeps the size of the download to a minimum.
This is because you can use the sizing margins to stretch a certain area of the image as much as needed. From the look of the screenshots, your tab images may be large... If its not that it'll be the caption bars.
If its neither, dammit I don't know

Keep up the good work!

Jun 21 2003, 18:31
thanks for the comments b0se :-D i think the reason the windows were so large before is because i had used the cut-off fix that i posted a while ago and used lucida grande which is a generally large font. now i'm using tahoma i believe so the windows are back to normal

i'm gonna get started on the lighter versions in a couple hours! so i'll probably have Flare done by the end of the day (hopefully)
cool style fubarshibby!

but can you add light blue color?
thanx
Ah ok m8, good luck

A light blue version would be well nice
The colors are way too vivid for my tastes. Not too shabby, though.

@Detriment....I said the same thing, consequence is less vivid colors are on the way....

It has been updated! Look

Okay, I decided to do Snow (Light blue) first, because that was requested and Flare was not. So I'll be getting to work on Flare by the end of the day and it should be finished by the end of tomorrow. The reason why Snow took so long was that I was almost finished and I decided that the blues I was using were too light, so I went and made all new graphics with a darker blue. I hope you guys like the shade I chose

i'm glad you like it!
Snow is definately the best colour so far, nice update.

BTW, what is that font you're using for your name in your avatar and your signature? I know Samurize's logo on it's website uses the same thing, it's just that I don't know what the heck it is!

Jun 23 2003, 21:04
Oh jeez I totally forgot to add the font to the zip! I'll add it in the next update, but for now it's called BitDust Two. You can get it at
this page, but if you'd like to wait, I will be sure to add it to the next update. I'm glad you guys like it!

EDIT: I do like the idea of an orange, but do you have any suggestion for the name? I've already gotten the colors for the dark and light versions, but I need to figure out the names and keep with the motif that's already there. So if you have any suggestions, they would be very helpful!

You can call it...
Sunfire.

(My favorite mech color in MechWarrior 3 and 4.)
BTW, I meant the font in your signature... Heh. I want that font.

Emberblast, and maybe
Flared.

Jun 24 2003, 16:31
Oh jeez sorry it's Planet Kosmos and I can't remember where I found it. I like your ideas, but I think I might modify them just a bit: Sunfire for the darker version and Ember for the lighter version. What do you think? I think it'll work

Okay I need some help from the good shellstyle makers. I need to know where to find the place that I can change the background color for the Control Panel and stuff. It's in the UIFILE part right? I just can't seem to find where it is in there. I also need to find out how to change the background behind the task lists. If I'm not clear enough, please tell me and I'll try to explain it better... But I could really use this help. Thanks

Although that's the lighter red color...

I'll have a true orange color scheme by the end of the week, after the lighter green and lighter yellow ones are done. So I guess for now you're enjoying that though

Jun 26 2003, 02:23
Will there be a "compact" start panel mod?
OH I almost forgot, damn fine job you've done

Heres a bug

It's in all the themes it's not so bad in Snow but otherwise

Yeah Firebird has a tendency to have problems with Visual Styles. I'll see what I can do, but I don't know. If you're talking about the fact that there's black text on the blue, then I can't do anything about that (unless there's some fix that I don't know about) but if it's the fact that the text is below where it should be, I'll see if I can't get that fixed.
And yes, I'll make compact start panels, as soon as I figure out how...

cool stuff

I can't wait! In the mean time I'll be using snow for a bit.
